Responding to Haiti

Opportunity International Canada would like to offer our sincere condolences to the families and friends of those who are mourning victims of last week's earthquake in Haiti.  Join us in praying for the nation of Haiti as it experiences the aftermath of this devastation.

In recent years, Opportunity International has a developed a relationship with Fonkoze, Haiti's largest microfinance institution.  Opportunity's Management Information Services Division (MIS) has been assisting Fonkoze with its computer systems. The MIS team has been in contact with Fonkoze during the past week, providing advice on recovery of their banking operation computer systems.

Opportunity's partner, ASPIRE, in the Dominican Republic, which shares the island of Hispaniola with Haiti, is already working to provide aid across the border.
