Introducing YAO Canada and the MicroMax Challenge

YAO Canada, Opportunity's growing movement of 18 -35 year old microfinance advocates, has just launched its first initiative - the MicroMax Challenge, a national fundraising challenge intended to demonstrate the power of small loans with big impact.
During the month of February, individuals or groups of up to three people (aged 18 - 35) can apply for an interest-free $100 microloan (the approximate size of an average first loan to Opportunity's clients), to be used as start-up costs for an entrepreneurial fundraising venture on behalf of Opportunity. Applicants will have three months to transform their idea into a successful reality. From hosting a bake sale to organizing a gala dinner, auctioning original paintings to crafting natural soaps - the fundraising possibilities are endless.
All participants will be eligible for the grand prize - an all-expense paid trip to Colombia to see microfinance first hand! Challenge proceeds will go to Opportunity's "Villages of Opportunity" program in Colombia. The MicroMax Challenge has been made possible by the Catalyst Foundation.
