Introduced to Opportunity International as a donor in 2004, Ute joined the staff team in 2020 after a long commercial banking career.   

The concept of international development through entrepreneurship, microfinance and banking services was an immediate fit in her mind.  She is excited to use her extensive business development experience to work with individuals, businesses and foundations to radically improve the lives of the ultra-poor.  

She is particularly motivated by the incredible impact microfinance and education can have on whole families and communities, and the multiplier effect of a small donation that’s lent out over and over again. 

Ute received her Master of Business Administration from Dalhousie University and has volunteered on non-profit Boards as well as at Orphanages in Mexico and Haiti.  

She is married to Kyle and has two stepchildren.
